How Does Oxandrolone Work?
Oxandrolone is a synthetic derivative of testosterone. It acts through androgen receptors inside responsive cells. Androgen receptor activation influences gene activity and protein production across muscle, bone, reproductive tissue, skin, hair, the brain and other systems.
Desired body composition effects cannot be isolated from androgenic effects elsewhere in the body. The former prescribing information explicitly stated that complete separation of anabolic and androgenic effects had not been achieved. 2

Severe burn recovery
Studies in medically managed burn patients examined recovery, body composition and length of care. Findings cannot be generalized to healthy adults using unregulated tablets.
Growth research
Research in Turner syndrome involved specialist care and defined medical goals. It does not establish safety for nonmedical use by women.
