Winstrol Side Effects

Winstrol is a common anabolic steroid that is used by athletes, bodybuilders, and those who are looking to add definition to their bodies. Because it is anabolic in nature, it carries with it the potential for some negative, unwanted and sometimes even dangerous Winstrol side effects. For the most part, though, the side effects are mild in nature and tend to alleviate during use on their own.Winstrol cycles short and dosages as low as possible.

Why People Use Winstrol

Winstrol, also known as Stanozolol or simply “Winny”, is one of the most common and powerful steroids used in today’s cutting cycles. Men and women alike often want to shed fat and enhance muscle definition after their bulking cycles, and to do this, they must significantly cut calories. In the process, their bodies may decide to use muscle tissue for energy, which causes muscle wasting and reverses their efforts.

Winstrol is a powerful anabolic steroid with a very low androgenic rating, which makes it perfect for the preservation of lean muscle tissue – even when on a calorie-deficient diet. Men and women rely on it to help them preserve and even enhance their muscles while they work hard to burn away unwanted subcutaneous fat. Both men and women may also use low-dose Winstrol to boost their performance, and women can even use it to add bulk. Regardless of your sex or your reasons for using Stanozolol, though, there are some Winstrol side effects you should watch for.

Typical Usage

Winstrol Side EffectsWinstrol is typically administered in 50mg daily injections or tablets for a period of four to six weeks as part of a stacked treatment designed to improve muscle definition and improve strength as well as stamina. In other cases, smaller doses are used for longer periods of time, particularly after a bulking cycle, to help improve the longevity of the results. Women use much lower doses because their bodies react more readily and favorably to the exogenous testosterone derivative. In fact, the largest safe Winstrol dosage for women is 25mg each day, and very few women will need doses that high. Regardless of the method of delivery – either oral or injected – the same effects should be considered. The chart below will help you make dosing decisions; each listed dose should be taken daily, and it may be divided in half and taken twice per day, instead.

Liver Toxicity

Winstrol is alkylated, and this means it can cause liver damage over time. As such, all Winstrol users should be prepared for their liver enzyme levels to rise in accordance with the dosage, duration and individual sensitivity to the product. The liver is a strong and self-sufficient organ for the most part, and most people who used it as prescribed noted that their liver enzymes returned to normal shortly after they stopped using this product. It is also best to avoid consuming alcohol or drugs like acetaminophen during treatment with Winstrol as they also affect the liver. Some studies have found that an herbal supplement called milk thistle may help keep liver enzymes in check during your cycle, too.

Common Winstrol Side Effects for Everyone

Some of the side effects of Winstrol may be experienced by both men and women. Fortunately, these are typically mild, and they will go away on their own with time. They include:

  • Increased oil on the skin and scalp. This is due to hormonal fluctuations. Medicated acne washes for the skin and clarifying shampoos for the scalp can relieve this.
  • This is a result of increased oil production, and you can treat it with over-the-counter products.
  • Upset stomach. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation are all common side effects of stanozolol. Fortunately, they are usually mild and last only a couple of days. Over-the-counter treatments can help.
  • Mood changes. Introducing exogenous hormones into the body can cause mood swings, but again, these are typically short-lived. Some individuals report feeling happier, but others seem to feel more anxious for a time. Being aware and expecting these changes can make a tremendous difference.
  • Changes in sex drive and performance. Men and women alike may feel as if they want to have sex more or less frequently. They may also experience changes in sexual performance. Men may have more or less stamina, and women may experience changes in the length of time it takes them to climax. Again, these changes are short-lived.

Winstrol Side Effects for Men

Winstrol doesn’t aromatize, which means it cannot convert to estrogen in your body during your cycle and cause gynecomastia or erectile dysfunction. However, there are still two major stanozolol side effects that men should keep in mind. The first is testosterone suppression, which occurs after a few days’ use of Winstrol. Because Winny binds to the same receptors as testosterone, there is simply no need for your body to make more. As such, you will need to supplement with testosterone throughout your cycle, and you will need to use a product called a SERM for four to six after your cycle to help stimulate testosterone production. Clomid and Nolvadex are both great choices.

The other Winstrol side effects for men are estrogenic in nature, and they include bloating, mood swings, and even gynecomastia. After your cycle, without proper PCT, your testosterone levels will be very low. This means that more estrogen will bind to the receptors, and it will have a greater impact on your body than usual. Nolvadex and Clomid can prevent this, as well, by limiting the amount of estrogen that your body can use.

Winstrol Side Effects for Women

Of all the Winstrol side effects, virilization is the most serious – and for good reason. It occurs when women have too much testosterone (or in this case, a testosterone derivative) in their bodies and male characteristics start to develop as a result. A deeper voice, thicker body hair, facial hair development, and clitoral enlargement may all occur, and unfortunately, they are often permanent. Women should immediately stop using Winstrol if they experience any of these side effects.

Fortunately, when it comes to serious side effects in men like prostate issues, gynecomastia, excessive bloating and testicular atrophy, Winstrol is quite mild and these need not be of concern. However, they may still develop if the individual is sensitive to the product and the hormonal changes it can cause. Overall, Winstrol cycle side effects are mild and can be avoided by taking the lowest dose for the shortest duration that still produces the desired results.
