Is Anabol the Same as Dianabol?

There are dozens of anabolic steroids available today, and many of them are derivatives of the naturally-produced male hormone, testosterone. Each one has a slightly different molecular structure than the next, though, which makes them behave differently. Every now and then, you will come across steroids that are the same, save for the name. This is the case with Anabol and Dianabol.

Different or the Same?

First and foremost, it should be noted that Anabol and Dianabol pills have the exact same molecular structure, which makes them the very same product. The chemical name for both is methandienone, and there are other brand names associated with it, as well. Some of these include Ganabol, Averbol, and Methanabol. Although they are the same in molecular structure, they may be different in appearance. Both are oral steroids, which means they come in pill or tablet form rather than as an injectable serum.

The History of Anabol and Dianabol

Although Dianabol is the most well-known anabolic steroid of the two, Anabol was the first to hit the market. It was originally created by John Bosley Ziegler back in the late 1950s, and it was provided to athletes so they could compete at the same level as Russians. It turns out that one of the Russian Olympic coaches had mentioned to Ziegler that he was giving his athletes a synthetic form of testosterone. Ziegler began to experiment with testosterone on himself, then took to the lab to make a few minor adjustments. Within a couple years, Anabol was being given to American athletes who were then better able to compete against the Russians.

Anabol Proper Use and Results

AnabolAnabol and Dianabol are both known for their ability to provide significant gains in muscle mass, strength, and endurance. They represent some of the most common choices among bodybuilders who are interested in gaining bulk quickly. Although it works well on its own, it is important to consider supplementing with testosterone for the duration of your cycle. Anabol binds to the same receptors as testosterone, and when these are continuously full, your body will stop producing natural testosterone. Anabol stacks very well with other steroids, such as Deca Durabolin, but it should never be used alongside another oral steroid as liver damage is a concern. Some bodybuilders have gained as much as 30 pounds in mere weeks. It should also be used alongside an aromatase inhibitor to avoid gynocomastia, in addition to post cycle therapy to kickstart natural testosterone production.

Dose and Cycle Lengths

The recommended dose for either Anabol or Dianabol is anywhere from 30mg to 50mg per day, though anyone who is new to Dianabol should stick to doses of no more than 40mg per day for their first cycles. Because Dianabol can be quite hepatotoxic, it’s also important to ensure that you keep your cycle lengths as short as possible. On average, anything between four and six weeks is considered safe, and you should take six-week breaks between cycles to allow your liver to heal fully. Following the dose and Dianabol cycle length guidelines can also help you avoid Anabol side effects such as gynecomastia, oily hair and skin, and severe bloating.

Brand Differences: Real or Placebo Effect?

Even the active ingredient found in Anabol and Dianabol are one and the same molecule-for-molecule, there are some people who believe that they behave somewhat differently in the human body. This is not a new phenomenon; it occurs with other drugs and compounds, as well. For example, one of the most popular narcotic pain relievers in the world, known by its generic name hydrocodone, is manufactured in many different ways by several different companies.

Hydrocodone may be called Vicodin, Norco, and many other brand names, and while the active ingredients are the same (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) people tend to react to them very, very differently. Vicodin contains less hydrocodone and more acetaminophen; Norco contains less acetaminophen and more hydrocodone. This slight difference in formulation means some people respond more favorably to Vicodin while others prefer Norco.

The same can be said for the differences between Anabol and Dianabol. Though they both contain methandrostenolone, the parent steroid compound, the fillers and inactive ingredients may differ just slightly enough to affect the way the body responds to the pill. Though there is very little information available about the actual physical differences between the two, individuals who participate in online forums tend to agree that Anabol may provide slightly better results with slightly fewer unwanted Dianabol side effects – namely bloating. This may or may not be the case, and it may be a simple placebo effect.

Does it Matter which one You Buy?

Anabol and DianabolGoing back to the comparison of Vicodin and Norco above, both pain relievers will work for their intended purposes. However, because one of the ingredients in the Dianabol pills is different, some people may prefer one of the other. The same thing can be said of Anabol and Dianabol. These are both oral medications, so it could be that one brand tastes more bitter than the other, or that one causes more gastrointestinal upset than the other due to the fillers or the way the pill is coated, if it is coated at all. In the grand scheme of things, however, it makes very little (if any) difference in terms of your results if you choose Anabol over Dianabol, or vice-versa.

Dianabol is more widely available in most places, including countries where steroids are technically illegal without a prescription. That’s because there is more Dianabol being made in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, which means more makes its way onto the street. If your cycle calls for 50mg of Dianabol a day for a period of four weeks, and all you can find is Anabol, this will suffice. Just be aware that you may notice minute differences in the way the pill looks, feels, or tastes in your mouth.

Anabol and Dianabol are the very same product; they are both brand names for methandienone. This means that they will produce the same Dianabol results for the most part, even if they do not look like the same product. Dosing, usage, and cycling guidelines are also the same for both products.
